This will depend on the treatment. We recommend not mopping floors for 5 – 7 days after a treatment. Should you need to mop before then we recommend cleaning in the middle areas of the room and avoid mopping skirting boards. Pest control recommendations may vary, therefore it is best to talk to your Cairns pest control technician at the time of treatment.

Yes, a yearly Cairns termite and pest inspection is recommended as a minimum to protect your property from invasive termites and other pests.

Children and any persons who are sensitive, or who suffer from allergic reactions should, as a matter of precaution, remain out of the premises until treatment is dry. Please avoid contact with treated surfaces until the treatment has dried.

Yes. Warranties will be outlined in your service report which will be issued via email on completion of service by your technician. The warranty is for remedial treatment to areas of concern only, not full house treatments. Warranty may not be given if
• Recommended action is not taken (i.e. at the time of service, the technician tells you to clean the property of debris to stop infestation and this is not done).
• The return of a small number of insects (we only cover a repeat infestation).
• Pest occurrences within 14 days of the treatment (products are not instance and time is needed for the residual product to work).

We spray internally and externally unless a different plan is discussed. Shed can be included.

These General Pest Treatments have NO effect on Termites. Termites are treated with entirely different chemicals. An inspection conducted by a licensed and experienced Termite Inspector (Termite Inspection to AS3660-2) is required for this. Ensure all loose items are picked up from the floor, especially around skirting boards, for example clothing and toys. Please cover all food items and food utensils. You may wish to carry out cleaning before a service is undertaken. Floors and carpets will need to be dry before the treatment can be carried out.

Treatment dry time is dependent on weather conditions, generally this is between 1 – 2 hours in dry hot weather.

A pest spray may take between 45 to 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours), depending on the size of the house/commercial property.

We recommend removing spider webs 10 days after spraying.

We recommend that pest control is carried out at least annually, increase in services may be needed depending on your property environment and location.

The effects of the treatment of general pests can occur over weeks and may result in an increase of dead pests in your home/commercial premises over that time. This is normal and indicates that the treatments are working and resulting in the reduction of pests. You may experience higher activity after a service and see pests. This is especially common with ant pest control as the products are not instant. Please allow 14 days for the residual product to take effect and for pests to be eliminated

Pestaway uses the safest pesticides available for pest control in Cairns and the surrounding region with lox toxicity. Once dry, the products are safe for children and pets. We do recommend covering Fish, Reptile tanks and Bird cages during treatment. If possible, relocate caged birds to external, well-ventilated areas.

Many services can be completed in wet weather, especially internal areas. If it is raining during the time of service, the technician will treat inside areas and any unaffected external areas. If it is too wet to complete the external area treatment the technician will return in dry weather to finish.
